On the occasion of the retrospective No Place Like Home – The Films of Louise Bourque at the Cinémathèque québécoise, Louise invited Samy Benammer and me into her studio to show us the original 16mm reel of Imprint. As fragments of film slip through her fingers, she describes the range of techniques used to create the work—from menstrual blood to punching and contact printing.
